About The Finer Things Maison
The Finer Things Maison is the commerce arm of The Finer Things Lifestyle — a cultural house devoted to the art of living beautifully.
The wider house lives at thefinerthings.style, where you can read about the philosophy, the Institute, the touring exhibition ”The Aristocrats”, and the book The Finer Code. The Maison is where beautiful objects find new homes — including the book itself, which you’ll find in the Library here, ready to ship.
This is not a marketplace. It is a small, considered house — every piece has been chosen by hand, often after a great deal of looking. Some are antiques sourced quietly across London, Paris, and the great European fairs. Some are books. Some are contemporary objects from makers whose craft we admire. All of them have one thing in common: they have earned their place.
How the Maison is organised
The Maison is divided into rooms, the way a great house is.
Table holds everything for entertaining — antique silver and crystal alongside contemporary linens and glassware. Wardrobe holds adornment, both vintage compacts and modern accessories. Objects & Art holds the decorative pieces that give a room its character. The Library holds the books — The Finer Code and the titles I return to most.
Each room is divided cleanly into Antique & Vintage and Modern — not because the two shouldn’t be mixed in your home (they should — beautifully, often), but because at the point of purchase you deserve to know exactly what you are buying. A Victorian fork has earned a different kind of attention than a piece made yesterday, and the shop is honest about which one you are looking at. What you do with them once they arrive is the most beautiful part.
How we work
Every antique piece is photographed in detail, described honestly, and packed by hand. We share provenance where we know it. If a piece has a small chip or a beautiful patina, we say so — and price it accordingly. Nothing leaves the atelier without being held, looked over, and wrapped properly.
We are slow, on purpose. New pieces arrive in considered drops rather than a constant feed. The collection is always changing, and the most beautiful things tend not to wait.
A note from Giulia
I started The Finer Things Lifestyle because I believed beauty deserved more attention than it was getting. The Maison is the most personal part of the house because I wanted to gather, in one quiet place, the kinds of objects I had spent a lifetime looking for. Every piece here is one I would happily live with myself.
Thank you for being here.
Until next time, fabulous and chic.
